Being A Nuffnang Blogger is the Hottest Thing Since I Got My First Free Movie Tickets

Being a Nuffnang logger is the hottest thing since I got my first free movie tickets. I really got no idea how fun blogging was until I was given the chance to watch one of the coolest action movies of all time, starring Angelina Jolie, Salt, last July 2010. I was one of the lucky winners of tickets for free screening at Greenbelt 3. But unfortunately, due to a not-so-good weather condition, I was not able to be present on the said event.

Pizza Hut now offers Hot on the Dot Pizza deliveries: 30minutes and hot (as indicated by the thermally activated sticker you place on the pizza box upon receiving your pizza) or your pizza is FREE!! Just dial 911-11-11 if you want your pizzas Hot on the Dot!

Otto Cycle and Diesel Cycle Review Problems

Reviewer for Quiz #2 on Thermodynamics with Solutions

Topic: Otto Cycle and Diesel Cycle
Course: Thermodynamics 2
Professor: Engr. Rogelio Almira
Reference: Thermodynamics 1 by Hipolito B. Sta. Maria

1. An ideal Otto engine, operating on the hot-air standard with k = 1.34, has a compression ratio of 5. At the beginning of compression the volume is 6 cu ft, the pressure is 13.75 psia and the temperature is 100F. During the constant-volume heating, 340 Btu are added per cycle. Find: i. c, ii. T3, iii. p3, iv. e, v. pm.

2. An ideal Otto cycle engine with 15% clearance operates on .227 kg/s of air; intake state is 100.58 kPa, 37.7C. The energy released during combustion is 110 kJ/s. For hot-air standard with k = 1.32, compute: i. p, V, and T at each corner, ii. W, iii. e and pm.

3. In an ideal Diesel engine compression is from 14.7 psia, 80F, 1.43 cu ft to 500 psia. Then 16 Btu/cycle are added as heat. Make computations for cold-air standard and find i. T2, V2, T3, V3, T4, and p4, ii. W, iii. e and pm, and iv. hp for 300cycles/min.

4. For an ideal Diesel cycle with the overall value of k = 1.33, rk = 15, rc = 2.1, p1 = 97.9 kPa, find i. p2 and ii. pm.
